Cosmetic Lesion Removal - Plasma Pen

Plasma Pen ionise gases in the atmosphere generating a minute electrical arc.  Using this controlled arc effectively we target specific areas requiring aesthetic improvements on the skin.  Targeted micro beams of plasma energy cause epidermal damage to the lesion without affecting the dermis. 

 

Following the treatment the body's natural healing process is stimulated, fibroblasts in the skin start to work to produce new collagen and elastin to the treated area.  After the treatment small carbonised spots may appear remaining in place for a few days, naturally shedding within 5-7 days. (all healing process times are different)

Cosmetic Lesions

The following lesions can be removed with plasma :

  • Moles (GP approval required in advance)

  • Seborrhoeic Keratosis (Senile Warts)

  • Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra (commonly found on darker skin)

  • Warts

  • Milia

  • Cherry Angioma/Campbell De Morgan Spot

Whilst removing lesions will not encourage the growth of more lesions please note that any lesion can grow again in same or different place.

Process

The process for treatment has the following stages:​

Consultation - Can be completed in person or via phone including medical history discussion, procedure explained, questions answered and price quoted.

​

Consent - Before the procedure client will sign a Consent Form.

​

Procedure - It is recommended that numbing cream for comfort, although not mandatory, is used in accordance with its instructions before your appointment.  The procedure will then take place in the comfort of the Therapy Room with you laying or seated depending on position of lesion.

​

Aftercare - after the procedure the skin will be cleaned, a healing cream applied and covered if necessary due to positioning. 

 

The client must gently clean area twice a day with natural soap or antibacterial wipes ensuring to keep skin dry.  Apply a healing cream twice a day for 2/3 days and thereafter apply a Vit A and D ointment to aid healing (to be provided).  Client must not scratch or pick the carbonised dark spots or scabs as it will hinder the healing process and result.

48 Hours after procedure client must -

avoid sunlight, thereafter if exposed cover skin with SPF50+

avoid vigorous exercise

not sunbathe, use sun bed or lamp

not go swimming

avoid heat treatments, saunas, steam rooms, infrared

​

Second Treatment - sometimes, although rarely, it is necessary to return for a second treatment if all of the lesion isnt removed.
